Excused/Unexcused Absence Policy

This attendance notice is to inform you of the current RISD attendance policies in regards to unexcused absences. We are aware that often a child wakes up sick, but does not need a doctor. In these instances, a phone call or note to the front office with an explanation for the absence is acceptable for the first FIVE absences. After five absences, a doctor's note will be REQUIRED to excuse the absence.

**Doctor's notes MUST be turned in within THREE school days from the date of the absence to be accepted and to excuse the absence.**
